ABOUT JERMAINE
Jermaine has the distinct honor of being named a 2018 Super Lawyers Rising Star for his work with personal injury defense cases. While working with a regional law firm, Jermaine was a vital role in a 5-person trial team responsible for the firm’s most significant defense verdict of 2016. His substantial work on trial teams has included preparation of direct and cross examinations as well as opening statements and closing arguments.
After spending almost 3 years working with big corporations, Jermaine has found his professional success, problem solving skills, and advocacy is best served with intimate, close client-attorney partnerships. He made the decision to leave product defense litigation to protect families affected by medical negligence. His top priority remains delivering favorable case outcomes for clients through a growing, trusting representation, and authentic advocacy.
Jermaine was born and raised in Jamaica, and enjoys horseracing and Ravens football.
Jermaine has earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with a focus on Rhetoric from the University of Maryland College Park and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He is currently an adjunct professor at UB Law, where he coaches the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team. In his first year as a professor, his team placed first in the Mid-Atlantic region – the team’s highest achievement to date. He has also used that position to make several meaningful connections between law students and practicing attorneys and judges in the community.
While attending University of Baltimore School of Law, Jermaine was recognized with various awards including: Student Bar Association Student Leader of the Year; Black Law Students Association (BLSA) Image Award; BLSA Mentorship Award; BLSA Peer Leadership Award, and Law Faculty Award for Most Outstanding Day Student, Class of 2015.
