Sarah L. Smith was recently recognized as a “Super Lawyers Rising Star” for 2018 for her work representing clients who were injured by medical negligence, as well as young men and women who were lead poisoned as children in Baltimore City. Sarah continues to represent adults and children who have been injured by a medical mistake.
Sarah was raised in Morris Plains, New Jersey, and graduated from Villanova University with a double major in English and Communications with a focus on Rhetoric and Performance. Sarah then attended the University Of Baltimore School Of Law where she was a member of the American Association for Justice Trial Team. Sarah also represented a client seeking asylum in the United States as a Rule 16 Student Attorney in the Immigrant Rights Clinic.
After law school, Sarah began practice at an insurance defense firm in Towson, Maryland. It wasn’t long before Sarah realized that she missed representing individual clients, and left the defense bar to join a firm representing individuals who were injured by medical malpractice, lead poisoning and other accidents. Sarah has represented clients in Maryland State and Federal courts, and has also assisted in drafting a brief to the Court of Special Appeals.
Throughout her undergraduate, law school and professional career, Sarah has pursued a passion for horseback riding, competing in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association both as an undergraduate and most recently as an alumna.
